RockFree

This week, Mabel Games review another rock game, RockFree which is developed by Acclaim, a very well known game company that has a long history in the gaming world. However to find it in Facebook is rather surprising. So we actually take a bit of our time to see what Acclaim has to offer to the Facebook community that they have offered to the gaming world for years.

Gameplay
RockFree is just another typical music game that you may find in Facebook like Guitar God, but what makes it stands out among so many that I have seen is the songs that it provided. Over 500 over songs from real artist that most rockers out there should at least heard of them.



The game started very simple really. Create your character and you will be jumping into your club. From there you will start your rock career. Players can also add in their band for this game by inviting their friends along for the ride. This game is a must for those who have friends who love rock songs.



After you are done, the game will provide you with a list of songs that you can play with, some are very easy while others are really hard. Practice is recommended if players wish to try something faster and more challenging songs. Player may also upload the songs that they wish to play. A feature I find very useful in music games.



The game is rather simple really, follow the tempo and just hit the keypad to the matching gem that drops from the top of the screen. If players get it correctly and make a few perfect hits, players can hear their fans cheer in the background. Special bonus mode is also offer during the game by hitting a certain amount of perfect hits. This will increase players score to the songs that they played.



After a few rounds into the game, player may sometimes get an invitation from other players to play or challenge them in songs. I would strongly recommend any players who play this game to do so. This is where the other half of the game really comes in enjoyable as you will either be put head to head with another player or play along with them. The game provides players with a stage where the game camera will zoom or split the screen depending on how the songs go. You will really see the wonders of playing with another player and see how good their skills are.



The game is scored by how good you play and how much fans you can attract really. This game is rather easy to score and within just 30 minutes, I was able to level up to 4 levels.



Players may also choose to customize their players look if they achieved enough cash or fans after a few rounds on the stage.

Graphic
Not really the best I seen in Facebook Flash Games, but the themes really suits the environment very well. Love how the developers do with the camera angle changes and how the players’ avatars react especially when having perfect finish.

Sound
This is the best part of the game. RockFree has over 500 plus songs in this game and counting. Players can really sit back and enjoy playing the music that they really want to play when they reach higher level. Some of the best rock artist is also included into the song list and due to the developers is none other than Acclaim, players can be rest assured that all the songs they provided are top quality and wanted by fans themselves.

Conclusion
This game is a real must for all rock players out there! Although some songs maybe hard to play at first, but practice makes perfect. All in all, there is one big problem with the game. I do find it at times it is very hard to load it or during a end of a certain songs I might actually get disconnected. I guess this maybe something to do with my bandwidth really or just the server maybe overloaded.
