Deep Blue Sea 2

Deep Blue Sea 2 is a match 3 game with the inclusion of some hidden object game as a mini game. The story is about a girl name Melissa trying to search the whereabouts of her older sister Jessica who disappeared after a vacation.

As a player, you have to help her to discover the underwater world's secret and trace to solve the mystery.

As you dive down in to the deep blue sea, you have to move the sparkly artifact towards the bottom of the sparkly exit to release it for each level. There will be more artifacts to release as you progress through the levels.

Line up 3 identical board pieces to pop them out of the way. Keep an eye on your air. Your choice of diver can affect air consumption. You can buy extra air in the island shop. There is a chest at the bottom of the screen where you collect treasure on your dives. The chest has a limited capacity, but is emptied after each dive.

Once you have release the sparkly artifact, you will proceed to the next stage. There is also a medal to be gained. Each medal is awarded only once per dive site. You do not gain experience for it the second time you achieve it.

The story mode is presented in the form of story books. There are chapters of the books you need to discover in order to meet Jessica. Meet a few people who will give the clue to you on how to get to the right person. You can always read the unlocked story chapters again by clicking on the book icons on the map.

Halfway through the Match 3 game, you will need to find some treasure in the hidden object game here. The story mode is linking to the different part of the underwater world here and player will feel the linkage of the mini game to the main game. Find the treasure as it counts toward your high score and is also your currency in The Island Area.

Once you have completed the mini hidden object game, you can proceed to the Match 3 game again. However, you can always return to the hidden object game if you fancy more work to get the treasure here.

As you progress through the stages, Deep Blue Sea 2 is getting more interesting as it includes more tasks to the players. You have to match 3 or more similar objects to break tiles, chains or frost.

All the while, personally I am not a big fan of Match 3 games. However, this is an exception for Deep Blue Sea 2 where I am feeling kind of addicted to it. Most probably this is because there is an interesting twist to the Match 3 game where you have to release the artifact and concentrate to get your actions to meet your goal. This is also due to the story line where it is linking the stage together.

I would give this game a 3.5 out of 5 ratings.
