Gym Story

Gym Story is actually a simulation game like Café World using the same type of engine. However the game is developed by Koram Game. The game is all about workout and making your customer sweat. In this review, Mabel Games will see how this gym game hold out and will it be interesting enough to keep us going for more?

Gameplay

We now look into the gameplay for Gym Story and the goal of the game is simple. As a gym trainer, player will need to focus on one important thing, to make his or her gym as modern as possible and as successful as possible.

To do this, players will be provided with the state of the art gym equipment (Not really that state of the art since it’s prone to breakdown). Player will be provided a gym and from there he or she will judge how to run the gym the way they want it to be.

The game begins with a few gym equipments and with you as a sole gym trainer. Customer will walk in and your job is to ensure that they get the workout that they rightfully deserved. This is where the game comes in really funny. First thing, customer will just stand and wait till you get to them and magically puff them to a gym equipment (Yes, You head me correctly! Magically puff). The customer will then do their workout that they intend to do. Customers will just wait for a minute or so and if not attended to, they will just walk out.

The game does come in large varieties of gym equipments and as player level up more equipment will be unlock to the players. Addition to the basic gym equipments, player will also be provided with advance version of gym equipment which will have a longer lifespan compared to the basic version. However, to obtain an advanced version of gym equipment, players will need to do a bit of helping out on their friend’s gym before they can obtain enough parts to build one. Real hassle if you asked me, Facebook game is about fun, not making it complicated or troublesome.

After all is set up, I do find one frustrating thing about this game. Gym equipments have a lifespan of usage and after that lifespan is up, the equipment will breakdown. I was expecting the developers to at least give a options to repair it, but alas once it is dead, only option left is to recycle it and get a brand new one all over again. This is where player seems to spend most of their time really. During the beginning of the game players will keep changing equipment after every few hours to ensure that the game keeps running.

Graphic

I find the graphic really uninteresting really, even when the character is cute and in 3D. The texture is very plain looking and didn’t catch my attention really, but what can I say? This is a Gym Game! It’s suppose to look plain I guess.

Sound

Well the music is a bit… odd really. I can’t really comment much on the music part. Aside from the music there really isn’t much of anything else to hear aside from the loud sound of your gym equipment dropping out from the sky after the game load.

Conclusion

I really find this game dull just like in a real life gym. The game didn’t even catch my attention after 3 days of playing it.

I personally give this game a 1.5 out of 5 rating.
