Social games like City of Wonder have gone to the next stage. To build a steady income, The first thing you need to know before starting your journey to getting rich is that the more of a building/ship you own, the more they cost. 

The cost has a cumulative increase of 5%. So for everyone you own the next one will cost 5% more than the one before it. This is not true for all buildings, but it is true for most the ones that matter. The below money making ideas are from ezacharyk.


The next thing to remember is that population and naval power are very important in winning expeditions. At the beginning you have some very powerful tools to build this up. The most important tool in the beginning is the Jagged Rock. This decoration has a set price of 300SD. This decoration has a naval power of 10 and will be a key to your success in the beginning stages of your path to riches.

The path to true riches is found in fishing. You will be given the best trade advantage by focusing all your research on the path that leads to Fish Farming. So in order, you need to get Ship Building, Gathering, Fishing, Industrial Fishing, Fish Farming.



Here is what opens up at each step in this adventure game that will get you there:

Ship Building: The basis for all research. You can't do anything without it.

Gathering: This opens up the Taro Paddy. This Market has the best SD per hour of all markets. This will be your staple market for a while.

Fishing: This opens up the Fishing Pier and Giant Octopus. The Octopus is the best naval per plot of all water buildings. Start spamming these as naval will be a deciding factor in most of your trade expeditions. You will also gain access to the Island Bungalow, which is the best all around residential building. You should use these to build your population. Get four Fishing Piers as soon as you can as this will be the best trade value until you unlock.



Industrial Fishing: This opens up the Cannery. This Market takes up four plots but more than doubles your trade from the Piers. So get four of these until you unlock:

Fish Farming: This unlocks the best trade value building, Fish Farm. Hopefully by the time you finish this research you will have a high enough population to have four of these. This tech also unlocks the Fish Hatchery. This goods building produces SD the fastest for the least amount of Silver. These two buildings will be your staple money producers.

To recap, when you get to Fish Farming, you should have the following buildings: 4 Fish Farms, fill out the rest of your goods with Fish Hatcheries, all your available markets should be Taro Paddies.

This will maximize your trade for your expeditions and maximize your income production. Eventually, you will get Mass Tourism at which point you will be replacing your Taro Paddies and Fish Hatcheries with the more Naval friendly Moai Statues, when you run out of room on your land that is.
